Birthday Number
The birthday number is the day of the month you were born, from 1 to 31. Numerologists read it two ways: as the literal day, and reduced to a single digit. It is a secondary talent that supports and colors the life path number.
How it's calculated
- Take the day of the month you were born, a number from 1 to 31.
- If it is a two-digit number, reduce it to a single digit by adding the digits together.
Example Born on the 14th of the month: the birthday number is read as 14, and also reduced to 1 + 4 = 5.

Common questions
- Is the birthday number the same as the life path number?
- No. The life path number uses your full date of birth. The birthday number uses only the day, so it adds a smaller, secondary layer.
- Why is the birthday number read two ways?
- The unreduced day, such as 14, can carry its own meaning distinct from its reduced digit, 5. Numerologists often look at both.
- Is the birthday number a major or minor chart number?
- It is considered a minor number. It adds detail and nuance to a chart but carries less weight than the life path or destiny number.
