The Armenian alphabet in everyday modern use today includes a few more letters than the original 36. Two additional letters, Օ and Ֆ, were added to the script roughly in the 12th century, well after Mesrop Mashtots' original creation, and they sit outside the four classical numeric rows entirely, carrying no fixed numeric value within the traditional system. Their absence from the numeral rows isn't an oversight; the four rows were already complete at 36 letters when Օ and Ֆ arrived, with no natural slot left open for a new numeric value to occupy. The Armenian alphabet works on very different logic: its 36 original letters each carry their own individually fixed value, climbing across four distinct rows all the way to 9000, with no repetition or cycling anywhere in the classical table. A single Armenian letter can therefore stand in for a value a thousand times larger than anything a single Latin letter carries in Pythagorean practice.
The two traditions also diverge in what happens to the resulting total. Pythagorean numerology reduces a name's sum down to a single digit through repeated addition, treating that final reduced digit as the meaningful result.
